Health equity builder, educator, and advocate transforming reproductive healthcare for BIPOC communities.

Executive Director & Founder
One in Every 10
Roxi Thiam is a health equity builder, educator, and the Executive Director and Founder of One in Every 10, a movement named for the reality that at least one in ten people with a uterus lives with PCOS. She leads the organization's strategy, partnerships, and advocacy, drawing on more than 16 years in strategic finance and accounting in the nonprofit space to design programs that are both mission centered and metrics driven.
Alongside her leadership at One in Every 10, Roxi founded Finesse Life Holistics and the retail apothecary called Bougie Garden, offering holistic wellness and tea experiences and herbal infused products. These ventures reflect her passion for holistic health, food as medicine, and sustainable living, and connect community, culture, and healing.
Roxi is a certified holistic nutritionist, clinical herbalist, and the author of No Prescription Needed: A Proven Step-By-Step Guide to Healing Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Through Simple Diet and Lifestyle Changes. Her work distills complex health concepts into accessible and practical guidance that empowers individuals and families to take control of their health.
Her advocacy is rooted in lived experience. Diagnosed with PCOS, uterine fibroids, and Type 2 diabetes, Roxi used plant-based nutrition, herbal medicine, and mindful movement to change all three. She no longer meets the Rotterdam diagnostic criteria for PCOS, her fibroids are no longer present on imaging, and her Type 2 diabetes has been in sustained remission for 9 years without medication. She released more than 135 pounds along the way. This journey is the foundation of her mission to ensure that others, especially BIPOC and low-income communities, have access to the same knowledge and resources.
Her community work includes workshops such as Essential Herbs for Womb Wellness, tea blending education, and self care sessions with women's groups and students, including collaborations with the University of Arizona Black Alumni.
Her story, programs, and platforms continue to inspire audiences across the country. At One in Every 10, Roxi brings together story, science, and stewardship. She amplifies BIPOC voices to reduce stigma around menstrual and metabolic health. She translates research into plain language tools that families can use. She ensures donor dollars fuel transparent, high impact programs.
Disclosure: Finesse Life Holistics and the retail apothecary called Bougie Garden are separate paid ventures founded by Roxi Thiam, and she is the author of the book named above. See our conflict of interest disclosure.
Whether she is leading One in Every 10 or cultivating innovative herbal wellness experiences through The Bougie Garden, Roxi is driven by one promise: evidence based care should be accessible, culturally resonant, and truly healing.
